Liberty Station

Liberty Station is a mixed-use building in the San Diego area of ​​the former Naval Training Center in San Diego, California. It is located in the Point Loma community of San Diego. It is located on the waterfront at the San Diego Bay Boat Ramp, west of the San Diego Airport and a few miles north of downtown San Diego. The 361-hectare (1. 6 km2) project includes several distinct areas: a commercial and retail district, a non-profit-focused pedestrian mall, an educational district, a residential area, a hotel area, an office area, and a park/open space. The project began when the Navy announced in 1993 that it was closing the San Diego Training Center. The city of San Diego formed a 27-member commission to decide what to do with the site. The committee developed, and the city approved a detailed plan, which was the basis for presenting the proposals of the master planner; Corky McMillin’s company was selected. The base was ceremonially closed on March 21, 1997.

Business District

The retail and business district of   Liberty Station is divided into five sections: Market Place, Ocean Village, NTC Landing, Harbor Square, and Fitness Club. The Marketplace section is located on Truxtun Road, between Womble and Roosevelt Roads, near Rosecrans Street; it is the most developed commercial district. Liberty Station’s NTC landing section is located at Lytton Avenue and Truxton Road. It is accessed through the iconic gate on Lytton Avenue, formerly known as NTC Gate 6, the image of which is the visual symbol of the entire Liberty Station. Promenade

The NTC Promenade is a collection of renovated historic buildings to showcase art, science, culture, and technology. It has theater groups, dance groups, museums, galleries, and various classes. There are also several public and private events venues, including a former chapel and a former naval training center dining hall.
